It’s a lot like camping
So I realized something as I was falling asleep last night - living in this house is a lot like camping.
- You have to get used to the bugs. We don’t have screens on a lot of the windows so…
- You will wake up with new mosquito bites
- It’s hot. No AC in the attic means that you’ll probably sweat in your sleep
- In most of the house, you don’t walk around barefoot… can’t yet
- Everything is wet when it rains. We discovered a leak in the dining room ceiling during the storm yesterday. Also, everything in the house sweats in the humidity. So everything feels “dew-y”
- It brings out the adventure in people. Brandon: “You know what I wanna do, babe?” Me: “What’s that?” B: “I wanna see what’s behind this wall (swings hammer and rips drywall by hand)”
These are not complaints, just observations. Plus, we like camping (for now).
